Default You have got to be kidding!!!!!

Took my GT into the shop today due to the vibrations in the steering wheel at highway speeds(65 and up). Got my car back this afternoon and about fell over because I was laughing so hard. The service manager said that (now, I hope you are ready for this) it is due to the preformace aftermarket exhaust on the car, but just to make me happy they balanced and rotated my tires for me. Now, I'm a girl and I even know better than this one. The amazing thing about this situation is they test drove the car after the balance was done and said there was no problem, but when I made the appointment they were told it was at highway speeds. My car had only 4 miles put on it when I checked the odometer. Now, there is nowhere they could have test drove it and reached the specific speed unless they were driving 70 in a business district. Can you say illeagle!!!!! So we'll see what happens. Not sure what they are smoking, but just to add insult to their injury, they put it in writing that this exhaust was causing the problem. Think I'll put that one in a frame and hang it on the wall so I can get a good laugh. Unless someone can tell me how the exhaust would cause the steering wheel to shake terribly only at highway speeds, we will chalk this up to stupidity.:smoking:

My 'other' car runs an open exhaust w/ cut-out. When its open, its very loud. Ay 70 MPH cruising on the highway its 97 decidbels inside the car. Yes, its very loud :-)

Even with that loud of a car, no vibrations are felt....rediculous dealer BS....

I feel for you...

It's sad when dealers/mechanics assume that when the customer is female, they can give them any kind of bullshit story. It's gotten to the point when my GF's car needs to be repaired, I go with her.
