Default Bypass valve...Where does it go?!?!?!

Just picked up my bypass valve for the AEM cai. Just wondering where i should install. The guy at the shop said to install as close to the tb as i can get, so just before the mafs. the instructions that came with the air intake show the bypass valve down about 6-8 in from the cone. the instructions that came with the valve a very vague.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Did you connect that directly to the mafs or is there a spacer. Can't tell in the pic.
Did you noticee a decrease in performance?

You shouldn't have any problem attaching it directly to your MAFS... I've never noticed nor heard of anyone experiencing performance loss with these. It only really gets used in the even your primary filter gets clogged somehow.
