Default Swapping an Air Flow Sensor

I have a 98 Hyundai sonata 4cyl which has a monstrous air flow sensor which just won't work with any aftermarket intake. However is it possible to swap an air flow sensor from another hyundai model (ex. tiburon) and use it in my sonata? Is the connector the same? Will it produce the same effect?

Default Re: Swapping an Air Flow Sensor

I had the same problem in my 95 Elantra. The air flow meter can't be swapped as it incorporates a temp sensor, a barometric pressure sensor, and an air flow meter. All 3 sensors are required by the ECM.

About 2 hours worth of work, a die grinder, some paint, and a K&N filter........

And my latest attempt....

You can buy a high flow air filter from K&N (model E-2875) and then you won't have to change the sensor.
