I noticed they talked alot about tapered intakes in that article,
anyone ever try something like that on a beta 2.0?
or would that be a problem because of the MAF
"just a thought"

i'm still testing out different combo's of pipe design, size, and whatever else i can think up. with limited room, i can only do so many. if i ever decide to relocate the battery, it'll open up new doors for possibilities. if i can get the filter close to the headlight w/ minimal bend, i dont see how it would matter whether the filter is in the engine bay or down by the fascia. cause when youre moving forward, the incoming air as well as the hot engine bay air should be moving to the rear of the engine bay. only problem would be exposing the filter or constructing a good enough air feed for the filter. tapering can be good, if done right. i've noticed the car responds better w/ 3" piping used for a cia. cause the stock size is,, what,2.5- 2.75?? go bigger, get more air.

If you move the battery, you can construct a box in it's place to shield your filter from the hot air of the intake and direct the cooler air to it.

yeah, thanks. but i'm still trying to figure out an ideal spot for the batt. i dont want it in the trunk cause its too far, and dont believe that even upgrading to lower guage cables will send the proper juice thru. some say its ok, some say otherwise. i was considering the back seat area, but ?? maybe a new radiator and fans should help me not have to move the batt.? any thoughts?

Someone said when you do engine mods, you should reset the cpu each time. How do you reset the computer because I added a new exhaust system and it idle's really low, and I think reseting the computer will help.

Thanks,

Actually, the most correct way to reset your ECU is to disconnect the battery, depress the brake pedal 3 or 4 times fully, and wait more like 15 mins. That will ensure that all energy is dipersed from the car and its electronics. Happy motoring.

It is dangerous. If the battery doesn't explode first, you will get first degree burns from trying to hold on to the wire.
