Default Throttle Body CHEAP

I did a throttle body upgrade a while ago and thaught i shoudl share it with you you guys! I got a Nissan Bluebird SSS with a 2.4L motors throttle body and used it in my lantra. It pretty much is the same size externally but has about a 5mm larger butterfly diameter.
All that is needed to make it fit is to bore out the 4 inlet manifold bolts to make it attach on. Then you need to remove the original TPS and reatach it to the butterfly rod. Then remove the original beta spring and throttle cable holder and reatach it to the nissan item. finally once you have that done buy about 50cm of water line hose for the throttle body warmer as the nissan ones are in a different position and need to be extended.
after youve done all that i followed elantra techs steps to machining out the inlet manifold to suit the new bigger diameter throttlebody butterfly diameter.

You don't need to do this if you live in warmer climate. Instead, just splice the 2 ends together so the coolant just circulates back.

No, the buebird engine was not available in the US. The Bluebirs SSS is a basically an Altima with an SR20DET (FWD version). In some Sentra models, we got an SR20DE but I would be fairly sure it comes with a different throttlebody then the SR20DET.

You would be correct in that the TB's are different.

On the other hand, very very original choice for the TB...looking at one myself for my Alty!

The throttle body i used was from a U12 1998 2.4litre nissan blue bird if that helps. Yes thats correct that you dont really have to connect the water lines to the throttle body but will be a good idea if you are living in a colder climate.

Do you know the engine code on that 2.4ltr?

Was it possibly a ka24e or a ka24de?

Ok, that means that people may be able to get the TB from a 240sx here in the states.

For those interested, the 1989-1990 models have the ka24e (sohc) and the 1991+ models have the ka24de (dohc) I don't know if there are any differences in the TBs for thos models but it is a start.
