Default Help with AEM on an Automatic

I tried to install my new AEM intake on my 00 auto Elantra today and ran into a few problems. First, what in the world do I use to cut the inner splash guard? I tried my big ass box cutter, but that didn't work at all.
Also, for those of you that have said that the AEM does work with automatics, are you sure? There just doesn't seem to be enough room for the intake pipe and the transmission there. Does anyone have pics of one on an automatic? Thanks.

Tin snips should be in every mechanic's toolbox. If you can't cut it with tin snips, you can't cut it.

No problem. I spent last summer taking body panels off with tin snips. I woulda died without them.

Course, that was right after we removed the radiator support subsection with an axe.

A pneumatic cutting wheel is another option, but tin snips are the cheapest and you can pick them up at any hardware store.

i used a scroll saw but if you dont have access to that i would say a dremmel is your next best bet. if not then i guess tin snips would work
