Re: How much things do i need to n/a my tib to at least 200hp
hrmm lets see
complete exhaust done from headers back
cams, BBTB, BBIM, spark plugs, wires, some type of ECU replacement or piggy back, fuel injectors, CAI, and a TORNADO!!
dont forget stickers.. LOTS

About 10-15k worth of parts. Labor will be extra.
You will need Quad throttle body, extensive head work, big cams, full exhuast, bored and stoked block, balance lighten and blueprint the rotating assembly, VERY high compression (13:1+) and a standalone engine management system. You wont idle below 2000rpm, you wont be reliable, and it will devour 116octane like there's no tomorrow.

Additionally, you're also gonna need to stress-releive the block, have a look at the bearing assemblies, thermally isolate cartain parts of the engine as well as take care of the valve cut angle together with an upsize and the mother of all Extrudehone jobs at atmospheric velocity as per dictated by the engine's swept volume to take care of the VE. The exhaust system will have to include a proper merge collector and a header that is tuned to your required powerband. You'll also need to have the head and block ringed to accept a gasket that it capable of holding up to the pressures involved as well as an appropriate fastener kit.
PITA I know, and lots more expensive than simply boosting the thing. Your choice bro!:rambo:

Re: How much things do i need to n/a my tib to at least 200hp
Btw the guys are talking 200whp.
That equates to about 240 Hp at the crank. I think he was asking if it's possible to make a tib 200hp at the crank.
Yeah it's possible, that would be around 170whp, but somehow our tibs are hitting a wall on N/a after 150whp. That seems to be the barrier right now.
With I/h/e, cams, pulleys, an safc controler some dyno time, bbim and bbtb U might get to 160whp. Although right now most of us hit the WALL at the 150whp. Some a lot less with extensive n/a mods.
So in other words go get a turbo if u want thoose numbers.
Re: How much things do i need to n/a my tib to at least 200hp
marten, do you know how much hp you got with the SAFC tuning?
i've got an NA engine with cams, BBTB, liteweight flywheel, underpulleys, 2.25" exhaust...for about 138 wheel hp.
a shop quoted me $700 for an apex SAFC, about $300 instal, and $150-300 dyno tuning (all CDN $), but said they said they didn't think it was worth the $$$$ unless i was going turbo.
any ideas on how much hp the SAFC is good for an an NA motor? thanks.
