Default Quiet muffler

Aight a buddy of mine just bought a Kia Sephia about 2 months ago and he wants to make it go fast. He's got a header on the way we custom made a CAI, and he is getting a cat back for it. ONly problem is where we live the cops are real dicks about loud mufflers, so what we need is what you guys think are the quitest mufflers (other than stock) wihtout a silencer, that are available. With these mods it MUST be just a little louder than stock. Is this possible or must we get a power robbing silencer?. Thanks for the input. :hmmm:

A good Borla universal muffler will give you an alright tone without being nasty.

Now don't grab one of their race universals, and you'll want the longest muffler you can fit. A resonator wouldn't hurt either.

those are my inputs. i think i'll be going with a spin tech with the time comes. i seen some ae86 guys use flo-pros, and some lt-1 guys in tampa use the spintech x-pipe mufflers.

I have a 60 series Flowmaster import muffler.
It is quiet and sounds great.
It flows nicely.

I have a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler on my 1.6L Accent. It flows better than a FlowMaster 40 series muffler, but yet is just as quiet as stock at idle(just barely an audible note that tells you the exhaust isn't stock). When cruising down the highway, the car is as quiet as stock. When I get on the gas, it gives a not eout the tailpipe that is unmistakably a note that comes from a performance exhaust system.

Best of all, I bought this muffler from www.jegs.com for $40!! It flows REALLY good, is quiet, and is cheap. What more could you ask for??
