there have been many posts on this before just do a search.

as AUTOBOT once told me
bypass valve = $50
new engine = $1000
you choose

I have a a AEM bypass valve one my CAI w/ not problems. It's been pretty rainy here in San Antonio lately. Just done sumerge you filter...(bypass valve = back up to saving you engine)!

WOW, people realy do listen:lol:

The AEM bypass valve does exactly what it says. It won't guarantee you against hydrolock but it greatly reduces the risk of it. The only people I know of to ever hydrolock their engine did NOT have a bypass valve.

Yeah. Just cause you have a by pass valve, dont think it know gives you the ability to drive through a lake:nervous:

FYI if the water level is high enough to reach your OEM filter position (IE: Hydrolocks w/ a bypass), it will be covered by your insurance. I've had a couple of friends caught in flash floods that got new engines via their insurance company.


As for the bypass valve... does it work? Yes. Should you get one? That depends on your location, local weather, and if your car is lowered.
