Ok, I'm in Va, and as most of you should know from the news as such, the whole mid atlantic is getting hit a with a huge snowstorm. I just went out and looked at my car(hoping that I could get to work tomorrow), and well, I already have snow up to my hood, and I will need a shovel(which I don't have, lol) to get out anytime soon :disappointed: . We still have another 24 hours of snow to look forward to.
My question is, I have an AOS intake on my Elantra with no bypass valve. Lets say that I try to drive sometime soon, while the snow is still pretty high on the streets(no plows around here yet), what are the chances of f*cking my car up?
not much cuz doesn't the aos just go under the battery? it shouldn't be exposed to the outside air as well as the aem. you should be fine. if you're unsure, just unhook it and put a regular filter on it. that's what i do when it starts pouring outside..i have an aem w/o bypass....still waiting for it to be sent.
Well, the splash shield that is under the car is removed(so I can trim it for my AEM which is going in soon), so the filter is exposed, also, I can't really go out and take out a CAI and put in just the cone filter~20 inches of snow is not really working on car weather, lol.
I wonder if my dad will let me take his Cobra
Absolutely zero. Snow is way too big to get through the filter, and slush will just collect on the filter's face... you may suck the moisture out, but it'll be well atomized by then and won't do a bit of harm.
Just watch out for deep puddles, they are the only thing that causes hydrolock.
