Done, and done

thanks aaron

once you pull out (or back) your drivers side, wheel/splash guard, you'll have better access to the canister. simply unbolt it, then, remove the hoses attatched to it.

like aaron said you'll see the solenoid there, don't remove it, or you'll most likely throw a CEL

.. lol and yes, the last owner had a battery explode on them, hence the acid-bath-splatter-marks seen in these pictures

i believe, that the rev a's were only 1997 tiburons soooo, your '99 should be fine. they revised the model halfway through the year, and thats what stuk until the 2000 tib.

Revision "a" was a 1997 thing, only.

read through the posts in this thread, it explains where the canister is..

Hello!
I'm the first time here.
I'm from Ukraine, I've got '97 Tiburon.

What will I get if I remove the canister?

The only reason to remove the canister is to install a cold air intake. The canister is in the same place as where the filter goes. If you're not installing a cold air intake, there is nothing to be gained by removing the canister.

BTW, welcome to the board.

I've got Cold Air Intake already (metal tube with cone filter at the end).
How do I know if canister is removed?

Hi everyone! I am really new at engine tuning. Can I ask what is an AEM? What does it do? And what is a CEL? I also would like to know what a Evap is. I stay in South Africa so I dont know the terms that are used in the state. Will this mod work on my Elantra 99 2,0 GLS???
Thanx for helping guys!!!

AEM is a company that makes CAI's and other equipment. You can find answers to most of your questions here by using the search link at the top of the page.

CEL = Check Engine Light

EVAP = Evaporation

If you have a 99, you don't have a Rev A so this has NOTHING to do with you mang.
