Default chances of 100kw out of 2ltr beta.

Just wondering if it is possible to reach 100kw at the wheels out of the 1.8 or 2 ltr beta engine in N/A form without going turbo. Reasons for not going turbo is i have a hyundai excel going for a 2ltr or 1.8 tansplant and going turbo would cause mounts to break and so forth.

Dont listen to everything you read on RPW's site. Considering there are several people on this site running turbocharged accents, with stock mounts , the car is stronger than they lead you to believe.

I believe the 2.0 makes over 100kW to begin with?

its 100kw at the engine given the 30% power decrease from engine to the wheels its something like 75kw at the wheels.

this is on aussie dynos right?
you'll have a hard time comparing to the US ones.

i dyno'd my 2L at 81kw before i finished my exhaust and intake.
now i've got the haltech, i'm probably around 90 odd.

I think you could get very close, and maybe even reach it, but it wont be cheap.

very true, the Accent is stronger than ppl lead on about, but he is talking about an Excel, and the excel will tend to break with stock mounts.
However, it has been done without problems...

yeh im talking about the aussie dynos. i also know that the excel mounts are quiet week so im going to get the coupe (tiburon in america) mounts and have them custom made to fit the excel. so that should fix my weak mount problem. are there any example of people that have fit a 2ltr beta engine into a excel and reached decent power figures without going turbo. also i know this is the wrong plce to ask this but i will anyways has anyone done the 2ltr conversion and turbo it in an excel??? and what power figures can be achieved. N/A is the better way to go i have been told if im going 2ltr in an excel so i dont mess up mounts and gearbox.
