Bigger valve springs??? - Hyundai Performance Forums

Would I need stronger valve springs if I went up to a 268 duration/ 9.5mm lift intake and exhaust cam for my 97 Tib FX or would the stock springs be ok?

If so, where are valve springs available for Tiburon's?

Your Stock springs will work fine with the upgraded Cams without a doubt!

Well, if spend extended peroids of time above 4k with STOCK cams, we experience valve float.

So stronger springs help.

I'd recommend RPW. THey know the BETA veyr well. and know how to make a spring. I have a set myself and enjoy them.

You obviously want CAM for more pwoer and ot make power you need to be in the upper rpms alot. so its a good choice.

the head wil lneed ot be removed to install them.

So you are looking at new head bolts as well.

And since ARP bolts are vastly superior to stock ones and cost less. This would end up being a scondary purchase.

and headgasket are not made to be reused.
