thats what i thought as well but he showed me a piece of piping that he supposedly had laying out in the snowbank next to the road this winter and it was not rusted at all. but i still want stainless because with how insanely thick that aluminum was i bet even steel would be lighter.
he claimed the aluminum had just as good performance as he pointed out a few older muscle cars that he had in the shop and he says 'performance: i use it on that car and that one and all my cars does that prove it' and im thinking 'no it doesnt because the car had balls to begin with being a big built V-8 duuh' :hmmm:
then he went on to say that once the metal gets to a certain temperature it starts to create backpressure
which was good because all engines need backpressure to run! i did not feel like arguing with him in the middle of his own shop so changed the topic....
thing is this guy has owned this shop for about 25 years now; longer than ive been alive and works about 10-12 hrs a day. i figured he wouldknow his stuff but i really think he doesnt have all teh facts straight.
also he said i would need to drop the car off on friday evening for it to be done on sunday because it would take 2 days to put on the headers and all of teh exhaust and like i said wants $250 probably $200 even if i buy the tubing myself. i think im going to find a new shop; shouldnt it be cheaper than that or am i wrong?

uzzled:
edit
anyone know where i can order SS tubing off the net? the stuff that summitracing has is aluminized steel i think but i want 304 or 321 grade steel if anyone knows a good place to get it. thanks.
