Anyone know where I can get a lager diameter mass air flow sensor for a 98 tiburon fx 2.0L?

well technically you can't put a bigger maf tubing..... cause that would make your car run richer then it's already doing : so this mean's there is not bigger maf.....

But you could but the maf sensor in a bigger tube and install a S-afc or any tuning device.... that hack the maf signal.... and then lean it....

why would you want a larger MAF, you already have what 2.5?? what do you want 3"??
i guess you could ghetto rig the sensor into a 3 inch pipe but for what?
just do what barman said hook up an AFC, and your good to go.

you will have to find a 3" maf off of a car that is wired similar to yours. i believe its a 3-wire setup with a power and ground then a voltage indicator wire of some sort. i really do not know one for your specific application. seriously though, youve already got enough money in your car and you may be better off getting a beta2 intake manifold or drilling yours out to accomodate a MAP sensor and get rid of the MAF but this will require a complete ECU whereas with a larger MAF you could get away with just an SMT unit.

and make sure you relocate the maf BEFORE the turbo between your air filter and compressor inlet. the MAF works by cooling a heated wire and sending a signal of how much voltage is needed to keep the wire at a certain temperature and if youre blowing hotter air past it it will be less accurate. plus you dont want it pressurized either; its only plastic.

i would start by locating a mitsubishi 3" MAF; maybe off a 3000gt??? and see how its wired up and such. you can run around 220whp the stock maf so maybe just do with this one now and get the turbo running and then think about the MAF but if yuore getting a full ECU replacement just go MAP right off the bat.

Are you saying I'm limited to 220hp with the stock MAF? Because I am planning upwards of 400hp, would I absolutely have to have a new ECU and MAP sensor to do this? If so, where can I purchase them?

when you get to that 400whp mark, you will not be using that crap. trust me, you'll have to have a standalone system and you will be able to bypass the maf sensor. it takes a lot of work and money to get there. good luck!

I you dont realize that you need a standalone system to achieve 400hp.

you wont ever achieve 400hp.

go back to square one read the recommended books, and then SEARCH the forums.

most likely you will get fed up and buy a kit. that makes 230hp and be happy you have that.

or, subconciously hate the car, and end up totalling it and buy a civic, and realize your hyundai was better.

atleats thats the what the average hyundai person goes through.

I have a standalone system....please don't try to insult me. I didn't understand what he was saying completely. Have you even read my other posts?
