Default Ricer Question about exhaust...

The only ebay universal mufflers I see are 2.5 inlets, wouldn't that be too much for a 00 accent? Does anybody know a cheap universal muffler (or one for the accent) that sounds good and isn't too big?

Check www.powertone.com and look for the 13' Sportone muffler with 7' mini-tip. That's if you want a quiet sounding exhaust. If you want a loud one, I dont know what to tell ya.:smoking:

why would you think it would be to much, all you have to do is get one of those 2" to 2.5" couplers, and the exhaust would fit,

now are you talking full exhaust systems, or just mufflers??

2.5 is a bit much if you dont have a nice CAI and a header, but it really wont affect you negatively if you were to put on 2.5 inch piping from the cat back on a stock manifold and stock cat, because your still creating pretty much the same backpressure from the stock setup, but technically your "tuned" car will be off, the engine was tuned with the stock setup, so you may need to disconnect your battery for 5 minutes and let your ecu reset, so it will relearn the new exhaust, also, sound will definetley be different even if you put the stock muffler back on, but not real noticable. I say go with it, it will motivate you to get more parts, and more parts, until you are sick of building a motor, and you jsut buy new cars for the rest of your life, lol, I hope not tho, and stop ricing, keep it real, those stickers dont add horsepower, lol, just kiddin man.

ps, buy the 2.58D

I have one of these on my car:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33636&item=2416317 398
It looks and sounds great. It has a 2.5" inlet but that was no big deal. I had the first part of the exhaust from the muffler inlet to the first flange replaced with 2.5" pipe.
