Default BETA Engines ???

I hear alot of talk about the two engines BETA 1 and 2. I have a 2001 Tiburon how can I tell which particular engine this is in order to buy certain parts such as CAMS for Example:ermm:

its a beta1 the beta 2 are in 2001+ elantras and 2003 Tiburons

Dweets correct. So if you have a 2001 Tiburon (like me) you have the Beta I.

Are talking about a mild cam like a different OEM cam or an agressive N/A cam like SR's or Cat cams?

u do know you need to do more than just slap the cams in, right? just making sure cuz some people dun know that...

ya, if you're going for anything more aggressive than the 1.8 elantra cam, you need to upgrade the valve train, too.

Valve train might not be neccessary but ECU reprogramming is a must.
Without correct ECU reprogramming, high cam is just useless and messes up your engine.

The elantra cam is drop in and run. He is referring to the SR ones or any bigger cams. Much better if tuned by ECU or other form of ECU management.
