Well, I can only afford one of the 3 mods I want to put on my car (CAI, headers, cat back) right now and I was wondering which one I should get first. I think the CAI is cheaper so I'll probably go that way. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm actually redoing my seats too, so I guess I'm doing 2 mods.
Go with the CAI on of the best mods for the buck. The best one out there so far with the biggest gains is AEM.
If I were you I would spend the money on performance parts rather than redoing the seats, but hey that's just what I'd do

CAI will give you the best increase of all three initially and make them more worthy later.

OK, lets say hypothetically, that I want to do the cai mod mayself. Now I have no experience with machanics. I don't have tools for cars and I've never used a dremel tool, saw, etc. I can build you a computer that's faster and more reliable than any brand name comp, but I couldn't change a tire to save my life FFS ;(
If I actually went and got eh seperate parts for the cai and somehow got it together and installed, would I see any improvments at all? Remember, this is from someone who has no previous (physical) car modding experience. The rims and tires were done in the shop. Or would I be sitting there and looking at a failed project? I'd go for the high priced AEM kit or another, but I've got like a 50$ budget that I cannot go over.
u could do the random special....but if u can't change a wheel (sigh...) then i wouldn't bother...buy an AEM and whilst its easy to fit yourself - i'd get someone to do it for you.
That was a hypothetical question. I can change a tire myself and I can build a better comp than most brandname computer companies. But I was just trying to see what my chances of success for tha car would be if I said that.
But I don't have any physical car work experience. I guess getting a friend who's done something similar to this would be a good idea.
I made a Random Special CAI and I pretty much had no knowledge of engines. I will say the hardest thing to do is to drill the hole for the Air Intake Sensor (I forget the exact name for it) that you need. Other than that as long as you can understand and follow directions its not too bad at all! I say give it a go, you gotta start somewhere and randoms instructions and pictures are great!

Thats the one!! I was close
All I know was drilling the hole wasn't too easy I think that was because I didn't have the right bit. Everything else was pretty simple and straight forward.
