Default Throttlebody in depth!!!

I have a 2001 Tiburon with custom CAI , 4-1 Header and complete 2.5 inch Catback exhaust with resonators removed. I have been looking into a throttle body but I have seen a couple of sizes for this vehicle what is best to go with I am ultimately trying to get to about 170 to 180 N/A also wiil I still be able to keep the cruise control installed CAMS coming soon can't wait.:smoking::smoking:

what you do is buy my TB From me for $35 plus shipping. and thennnnnnnn you send it to onpol (Omar Pollock [onpol@prtc.net] )and he bores it out to 58mm .. it came from a 2001 tiburon with cruise control so you can keep it

oh yeah its cheaper to than buying a big bore throttle body.. plus if you are staying N/A and dont have turbo plans 58mm works out perfectly

i was told 61mm but remember your intake manifold should match your throttle body so you'll have to get it bored out to 61mm.... if you want a 61mm throttle body you'll have to go aftermarket because the most a stock TB can be bored out is 58mm but you can have your stock intake manifold bore out to 61mm no problem.. onpol does that also

Thats really a turbo question but.

With turbos technically the bigger the better. as big as you can go. But dont put it on till you have the turbo on. or you will lose N/a performance.

180hp n/a from a BETA engine is a pretty hefty goal. The engine was never made to produce that kind of N/A mods.

You'd have to look into high comp pristons and/or haltech.

Either one also being a pbig ticket item for a turbo you might as well head down that route.

I think the fastest they ever got the BETA to run N/A is 220whp, which would be about 240hp.

so seems the way to go if I am not going to turbo is 58mm . Will I still have to get the intake bored out and will this change give me any decent boost in performance. also how come we have to bore out our intakes but the HONDAS seem to have them already done and ready for bolt in Because correct if I am wrong in the belief that Korean cars especially Hyundai have a nice tuner market following these days .:disappointed::disappointed::disappointed:

tuner market has nothing to do with the car itself.

honda has nothing to with hyundai.

Its the size the stock TB. Its good engineering.

The reason the honda one is bored it they probably use the same manfold on a bigger engine that uses the bigger TB and so they cut it out to he bigger size.

Hyundai uses the IM for the BETA only and there is only one cofig of it.
