Default Will Reprogrammed ECU erase?

Hello,

If I have my ECU reprogrammed for performance, will the modifications erase if I reset it by unplugging the Negative terminal on my battery?

What is the difference between the new programmed fuel curves and the ones the ECU learns from daily driving? What is actually reset? Thanks

a reporgramming will stay.

basic fuel curves are kept.

The ecu sorta fine tunes them to how your drive and how the engine acts. these are what are erased.

to understand why you would need moderate computer knowledge.

ECU deals with such things as ROM and RAM memory.

Default Re: Will Reprogrammed ECU erase?

Curious, I'm a computer programmer. I do understand ROM and RAM. So, reprogramming my ECU is like reflashing my BIOS. Then, the runtime info(my driving habits) would be stored in the RAM and thus gets erased when the power is disconnected. Ok, Understood! Thanks
