Default Dual exhaust

Hi new to this forum. I have a 98' tibby with a injen intake and DinoMax exhaust with 2 - 1/2 piping. With a powerchip, I want to make it dual exhaust. Does anyone know if this is possible because of the box underneath on the driver's side. And what's better a 4-2-1 header or 4-1? :smoking

hey. hmmm i guess to each his own but as far as dual exhaust goes....RICE...but on the performance side of it you will probably loose HP. you say you already have 2.5" piping which is plenty freed up flow..i dont know for sure if you can do it on the RD tib. as far as which header. it depends on what kinda gains you want and what kinda transmission. the 4-2-1 is for low-mid rpm torque therefore it would be better for the automatic transmission since they lack low end torque (trust me..i know) and the 4-1 is good for manual transmissions, it gives mid-high rpm gains.. GOOD LUCK! :rambo:

PS. WELCOME to HP.com. you can learn so much here, i know i did!

to do the dual exhaust so you don't lose performance, use a t pipe to come off the exsisting pipe just in front of the muffler...
I don't think a Tib would look good with dual though...

You will still lose performace by doing a dual exhaust. Not only will you add weight, you will also interupt the free flow of the gasses. The best design for any inline engine will be a single exhaust, keeping the pipe as straight as possible.

Basically, if you have 1 exhaust manifold, you should only have 1 exhaust.
