Default header question

quick stupid question, my obx header should be here tomarrow. i read the whole write up about how to install this header several times so i feel kind of stupid asking this; will i be able to install my obx( believe its the new on 1 bung of sensor on the header 1 on the flew pipe.) myself with out welding anything, or need anything else. Will i be able to install a high flow cat in the future with no problem or is it better to wait to install everything at once. as always thanks all

Default Re: header question

ok with my experiences with my header i would wait to get it all installed at the same time (header catback) because for one since the car is obd II your check engine light will turn on and with my car these are the problems ive had since i installed them (im getting my catback put on at the end of the month)

1. since my header only had one plug it turned on the CEL
2. my only o2 sensor went dead and now i have to park my car cuz it is running so rich im dripping gas
3. plugs fouled
4. no cat means im ruining the earth
5. OBX header was to short so i ran with open header for a day and a half until i got someone to cut and streach the rest of the exhaust

I might be getting 2 brand new carsound cats from a friend for cheap if i do im going to post one of them for sale here in HP

usually its too muchj of apin to do it twice. if you get a header just do the full exhaust all at once; it will end up cheaper that way and youll be done with it.

yeah i noticed but after my exhaust manifold broke 4 times i just bought a header with the intention of building a exhuast. after i realized that i had to pay 375 for my header the exhaust at once option became a thing of the past

well if you can somehow get your catalytic converter to sit between your header and your flexpipe you are cool... one bung has to be before the converter and one after it.
as far are your high flow cat question is.. you will need flanges welded on the end of it. make them match up to the flanes on the end of your header and the end of your flexpipe because thats what it will bolt to as long as its safe to locate your cat there.
