Default Difference between single cat and dual cat systems for the beta?

Hi guys,

I have a question. I am looking for an OEM exhaust manifold/inverted cat for a canadian spec 99 tiburon.

I have a guy that is willing to sell his, but his came with two cats. I am wondering if I can just put his exhaust manifold on with one cat and if it would be the same as my stock setup. How different are these systems? Will this two cat system work with my car? I need to be able to pass emissions testing very soon.

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

well if your car currently only has 1 cat then I dont see it as being a problem. But if its got 2 and you remove 1 then you are most likely not going to pass emissions.:depressed: Hope this helped

if you remove one of the cats when putting headers on you won't pass emissions???

youll be fine.

on your 99 tib you should have 2 cats already, one in the manifold and one under your car. as long as you have at least 1 cat with an O2 sensor before it and the 2nd one after it, you will pass emissions for sure.

might need to relocate them or extend some wires though.

Hmm. Well my car came with only one cat... this is why I am unsure how I could integrate this dual cat system, and allow me to pass emissions.

I see the question here. If you do not mind my asking.. why do you want to put the STOCK dual cat system on your car?

I am selling my header/hiflow cat because I will be selling the car. I have a buyer for my parts, and he wants them ASAP. So I need to find a stock manifold/cat to put in the car for when I sell it. It will need to pass emissions too with this setup. The only exhaust manifold/cat combo I can find is one with dual cats. That is why I am trying to verify if it will work on a canadian tib that originally only had the one inverted cat.

youre not gonna fail for having too clean of an exhaust, dont worry.

ive never seen an aftermarket with dual cat though thats messed up. what brand?

edit

nm you said you wanted a stock one.

i have a stock 2000 manifold and it has an integrated cat if you need it.

It isn't aftermarket... It is OEM. I believe from a 2000 or 2001 cali spec tiburon?!?!
