Default MOVED: Replacing fuel filter?

I checked Hyundai WebTech to get some tips on replacing my fuel filter. Is it really necessary to disconnect the fuel pump? I just don't feel like ripping my rear seat out to gain access. How much pressure is it under while the car is off? If I just put a rag over the "in" tube will that be enough to cover the spray, or should I really disconnect the pump first and stall the engine out to release all the pressure?

Whenever i do it on my car i never disconect the pump. I just take a rag and slowly undo the fuel line and let the pressure release.

you could also open the fuel caop to rlease some of the pressure in the tank. That will help also

Find the fuse for the pump and pull it. Then crank the engine to release the pressure in the lines.
