In http://www.pattakon.com/ has been added new, interesting material: a better ‘VTEC’.
Please take a look.

Thank you

It is for any car, not only Honda.
The Honda VTEC engines were selected just because they are “the state of the art”.

The arrangement shown in the animation with the common control shaft seems to fit to the Hyundai’s engine design with two pivot shafts and single cam. Just think how easily the mechanism could be installed from factory. A little modification of the rocker arms, an additional control shafts and a reprogramming of the EFI unit. Why don’t you ask Hyundai’s opinion?

The VVA system cannot displace the red line to higher revs (it is a matter of strength of the pistons, the connecting rods, the crankshaft, the block etc), but it can improve the engine’s behavior at all revs and every load. It is not so important the significant increase of maximum power output it offers. The important is the much better behavior, the plenty of torque everywhere and the lower consumption and pollution at medium to extreme low revs.

Thank you.

Is it actually possible to order this system. How much does it cost? Can't find any info on his page...

They just took the VTEC idea, and are trying to apply it to every other car out there. VTEC uses an extra cam lobe and rocker arm for the rev range. I don't really see what they are doing with their design, but from what I can tell they are using some sort of control actuator to increase or decrease the lift of the valve. I would say its not worth it, as it is not going to do what you think it will.

I found this site like 6 months to a year ago. They don't have an off-the-shelf system you can install in your car. They are still in the prototype stages. You would probably have to ship a motor to them for them to do the R&D and custom fabricate a system for you. I'd hate to think what that would cost...

Hello,
Yes we are still in the prototype stage. No kits available yet.
Take a look at the modification necessary for the present ‘state of the art’ engines, the last VTEC’s of Honda. The rearrangement of the parts of the valve train system and the elimination of some of them offer completely different behavior. And if you beat the ‘champion’, the rest are easy.
For the moment, evaluate the system theoretically, after all it is so close to existing engines. The base is the existing VTEC of Honda and Valvetronic of BMW.
Thank you
