Default Damn Mitsubishi!

Ok so im outside checking my car as usual and I start it and every thing sounds fine when BAM and then i start hearing a real loud whine coming from the timing belt case, I shut off the car and check out the timing belt (no cover) and its off balanced on the cam gear and theres a huge cut in it going the opposite way the belt spins, so im checking it out and I go to start the car the whine is still there and now its running shi*ty WTF? It wont hold a steady idle, its sounds like it knocks when you hit the gas and let off real quick(like its pinging real hard), so I shut it off and check to see if anything fell in the timing belt cover(nothing ), so I go to move it back to the spot where I had it before this happened and it dies:ermm: , I think it jumped a tooth on the cam gear but im not sure would you guy happen to have any insight on this problem, possibly what it might be cause tommaro im going to buy a timing belt and sh*t to do a tune up. Please help me with this problem im hella mad right now:ermm:

Was the bam like metal hitting metal? Or was it like an exploading bam? If you jumped one to many teeth you could have some problems. Vavles smacking the piston...ouch.

na it was just like a backfire sound I looked and the timing was 16BTDC:shocked: and i know now that it skipped a tooth but I dont have to worry about a valve into the piston its a non-interference engine nothing to worry about I went to the parts store today and picked up a new belt and silent shaft belt(oil pump and tommaro it should be running like normal
