Get a CAI. The '03 GT's respond VERY WELL to NA mods.

Well, the best would be a short ram sealed from the engine and fed with a hood scoop.

Basically, the short ram will give a better throttle response where the CAI will give more power. If you did a short ram with a hood scoop like I said, you get the best of both worls. But since mosy people don't want to go to those extremes to squeeze that last minute amount of power out, then a CAI would be better.

I wanna try and find a scoop for my hood.........But i don't wanna tear into my hood and mess it up.....If anyone knows sure fire ways to do this , and ppl with expierence let me know, i have a cone filter on my stock intake, i would like to throw a scoop right in front of it and throw on a heat shield right around it....Hopefully try to make it all professional looking.

Check kspec for the scoop, any place that sells autobody stuff, your local rice shop.

For the shield, check out the new Elantras (atleast the GT model) They come with a factoy heat shield and maybe it would be able to make fit. However, it isn't completely sealed.

Here is a way. Get aluminium stock in about 3mm thickness. Enough to withstand the pressure buildup in an airbox and flexible enough to bend. Build the box in 2 sections joined with a foam rubber seal, one half on the hood fed by the scoop and the other half around the filter sealed from the engine bay and thermal shielded.

I'm gonna put one together for my car soon.
