Default Quick Questions

To be honesty, i'm not quite sure where to place this. I have two questions, one is when did autozone start selling MSD ignitions? I saw an MSD ingition setup there the MSD-6A or 6AL or something for 199.99. Second, the apexi S-AFC and S-AFC II, what are the requirements to installing those on a car? For instance is it possible to actually install one on something like my Ford Ranger? Or another domestic car? Just wondering. It could be extremely helpful when I start turbo'ing my ranger.

if you mean actually turbo charging your car..you shouldnt use S-AFC. its for N/A applications...as far as putting it on your truck, i assume you can but someone who actually knows will tell you i'm sure
GOOD LUCK:rambo:

I know what it does lol, the truck is fully capable of handling 15 psi of boost on its own with its MAF system But for fine tuning it, or even for N/A applications I am running right now, CAI, headers, high flow cat, catback and a new cam and bigger valves, soon a P&P, I wanted to run it now as well. So I was just wondering what the requirements were, like does it need to be a return or a returnless system etc...

hehe yeah, the MAF system on the ranger is the EEC-IV system, its the same system used in the older turbocoupes, SVO mustangs and merkur XR7's. Which were all 2.3 turbocharged engines. So the MAF system can handle low to mid boost. Anything higher then that requires additional engine management. The first restrictive part of boosting for us ranger boys is the internals. Secondly, the engine system in my ranger does not have a knock sensor, and I know that the S-AFC's have an input for one...so I could install one and hook it to the S-AFC or so I hope. Its an OBD-I engine if thats important at all. yeah i'm very curious as well, I hope some vets come down at help answer the questions
