Default rear mounted battery?

I was thinking that if us accent owners mounted our batteries in the trunk that we could run a cold air system easier and get more efficiency out of it insted of running it along the tranny and through this and over that you know the ruoutine. If anybody has done a rear mount before I could use some pointers before I begin this ordeal.

There are relocation kits that come with a battery box. You need to make sure you get the box for your safety. Also, many tracks willnot allow you to run if you don't have the battery in a box after relocating it.

In addition, relocate it to the passenger side. It helps to even out the weight distribution a little.

Also, if you mount the battery in the rear and run at a track that uses NHRA rules, you need to mount an external battery kill switch at the rear of the car.

I did mine on my 97 FX, what a bitch. I didn't have the ground circit complete so I had a dead car for a couple of days. I just ran a 1 guage wire from the starter back to the battery then grounded the neg cable on the back frame rail and then the thing I forgot was to ground the old existing neg cable that was up front. I just reground that and was set to go.
