I'm not really sure. R u gonna get a set of headers? I personally wouldn't go with the strait pipe. i had header and strait pipe with rest stock and it sounded like a weedwhacker on crack. If you want to make it look, sound and perform good; here is what i would do. leave ur stock manifold, unless u really want header, buy high flow cat, go for 2 or 2.25" custom pipe to resonator then stock lookin' muffler.
I have the whole exhaust system from headers to high flow and catback and i like the gains. I believe u should prob. be able to feel a little difference with the setup it seems like ur looking for.
you are probably going to throw a CEL with the lack of a cat.. and it is illegal as all...
I do understand where you are coming from through.. I am going to run the MBRP mid pipe and then have a custom section made up to connect that to a stainless muffler I bought from a friend of mine in the UK.. to finish it off.. a nice set of polished resonated tips from ansa.. to help muffle the sound a little and make it look a little less inconspicous.. two two and half inch tips are less noticible than a big four or more inch tip.

i plan on boosting in the future...so NO i'm not gonna get headers.....free flow straight back to an OEM thingy. now i realize the hp gain won't be ALOT.....but would i loose any.
No you will not lose any, despite what some people on this board will say. I any car, running an open header is the best thing that is done. It has been proved on a dyno and is also why most all out race cars run open headers, back pressure is the enemy. However, running open headers is not streetable by any means. Thus why it is not done. So will you lose power from not having a cat, the answer is no. Will you gain alot from it? again the answer is no. Will your car be louder and polute the environment more, yep...is it worth it?..if your driving on the street then no. If its on a 1/4 mile and you need every spare hp you can get and your driving a stripped car then yes. On top of the fact that you WILL throw a CEL, the first o2 sensor and the second o2 sensor will have the same readings and will see it as a malfunctioning cat and throw a CEL. Yet to each there own.

i dont understand why your tryin to do this. if your going to change the pipe go for at least a 2.25 to 2.5 " .. going 2" is just the same as stock.. minimal gains are what your going to see.. and put a high flow cat .. dont run a straight pipe..
if your planning boost then go with 2.5..
I agree, if your planning boost go for 2.5" and a high flow cat. Get a free flowing muffler with a small tip if you want to make it look stock. Not really feelin' the test pipe idea but its whatever you want to do. It would be better for emissions, and prob. sound if you get the hich flow cat. Just my .02
ok so 2.5 (turbo in the hopes) straight back (no high flow cat ) now with this would a stock muffler cause too much back up? Would i want to Get a High flow muffler?...but then i'd loose the stock look that i'm looking for, cause you just can't put a tip on the end of a straight pipe and have the orginial look. espcially since our muffler was right at the back and easy to see.
and throwing a CEL isn't an issue, i have one on now for some gay ass reason...and have had them on periodically) ...i think one was my gascap or some sh*t
