Default exhaust system

I was wondering if you could shed some light on my problem.

I recently had a full exhaust system put in on my 2000 1.5 DOHC accent (pacemaker extractors, high flow cat, 2" madrel bent exhaust, 1 resonator, 1 muffler)

The performance gains are good, with more torque and now no restriction high in the rev range.
However, there is a loud 'crackle' in the note whenever I snap open the throttle. It sound like a vibration. The crackle can be annoying;, other than that the sound is good.

It mostly occurs about 2000 - 3500 revs, however the effect is less noticable when I'm orignally on some throttle or half throttle (already under load). Eg. on the highway in 4th gear and I plant my foot up a hill, it does it less then when I'm starting from zero.

The exhaust workshop where I had it fitted said they've done dozens of excels with no problem but the LC accent always had this problem with a free-flowing exhaust. They put it down to the engine, but is this true?

Any comments? Thanks for your input.

after i got my exhaust finally done, my car made a buzzing noise in upper rpm range. there have been others that have noted the same thing. i am not quite sure what can be done to solve it, but you are not alone when it comes to this noise.

Exo!......this seems to happen when stainless steel headers are fitted to all the [4 Hyundai engines.
It`s connected with resonance/harmonics caused by the thinner stainless steel.
You MAY improve the sound by heat-wrapping the headers & downpipe, but it`s a good mod. anyway, as it will cut down the heat increase under your bonnet which your new headers will likely have caused.
Ceramic coating is a more expensive option.
Cheers,
Nick.
