Default Help please. Need to find a special transmission for my Tiburon 2.0

Hi evrybody!
I own a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon 2.0L DOHC 16v and I would like to change the standard mechanic transmission for a special one that I know some guys have installed in their Tiburon's but they won't tell me. The only thing I know is that the transmission it´s Originally Hyundai, not modified by some sport cars experts, I mean it's manufactured in Korea by Hyundai. That's why I'm really hoping that any of you can know about it. The information that I could get is the gears ratio which is the following:

1st 2.6:1 (39/15)
2nd 1.9:1 (40/21)
3rd 1.52: (38/25)
4th 1.24:1 (31/25)
5th 1.03:1 (33/32)

If it's available in your country I'll be really grateful if you can give me the address where to get it. I'm willing to import it right away because it works really great (as I have seen).

Any kind of help or information regarding this transmission or where can I get, it will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Is it just me or does that first gear seem way to tall? Unless you get the revs way up on take off, you might have some bogging issues with a first at that ratio... and all the other gears are very closely spaced... "alpine" ratios

Maybe you are talking about the 1.6 Beta transmission? The gearing is good for acceleration, so I'm told.

I have one, but it's bolted in my engine in my car....

Mad, you are right that that is a very tall first gear, but I for one would like a first that is a little longer. I think first is a bit too short in my car. That is an oddly geared tranny. agc, where did you see this transmission?

Hi guys!

Thanks for your answers.

Indeed is a very rare transmission, and it's "alpine" type like Mad said. This transmission is used for rally competition in my country (Chile), that's why it has a long first gear and the others are very close in order to have a quick response in tight turns and drift.

That Beta transmission your talking about, do you think I can get one somewhere?. Does it has the same gear ratios?

iQfOreVa, thanks for your research, but I don`t think taht the 6 speed transmission will do for the kind of use I'm giving to the car.

Well guys if you have more info, please let me know.

The 1.6ltr beta tranny is not available in the US since we never got that car.
