Default Header insulation

I ve seen motors with the headers wrapped with insulation, what are the benifits of that? Will that decrease tempertures under the hood? Or just a good way to cover up ugly header?:bandit:

It does a good job of lowering underhood temps and depending on what kind of wrap you get, it looks good! IMO

yes, it is effective at lowering the temps. but it needs to be changed every so often because moisture can get trapped under the rap and will start to corrode the manifold.

I've also heard that wrapping the headers tend to cause cracking.

Anyone experienced this before?

Your header will break with header wrap if your header constantly gets soaked with water.

the guys here dont use it.. SS pipe that they use here will crack i have seen it but ur best bet is to CC them.. that is what i have done and that works best imo:
