Default Exhaust

Hello,
I have a quick ? to ask you guys and here it goes. I got my exhaust on a 2k3 tiburon auto i4 upgraded to a 2.5" cat-back with 4-2-1 headers but now my car does not have any torque in the the low to mid range at all. I want to know if going to 2.0" or 2.25" will solve this problem. I am not going to go turbo. I am going to stay n/a. Please shed some light on my terrible problem because my take off and accel are horible untill I hit 5k+ rpm thanks alot.

well I was reading on different exhaust sites and they stated that you will lose power with a n/a car and a 2.0l engine useing a 2.5" exhaust. This is after I upgraded of course. Does anyone think I will regain some of that torque if I go back to a smaller pipe? Or is that a waste of money?
