That is because the 2004 went back to MAF. The accord intake thing is realy only for the 2001-2003 Elantras. You probably would have been better off with the AEM intake for the RD Tibs.

Your pictures turned out realy crappy and you can't see sh!t in them. But, your best bet is probably to cut out a small section for the MAF and buy a couple reducers to connect it. Then it should go in. You shouldn't have to relocate the battery. Instead, just shift it over a bit. I have the 3" intake and it fit and the battery is still 100% on the tray. However, you might have to cut the hole larger.

Take some pics of the intake itself so I can make sure it is the right one. Please take a better quality pic too.

Here is the update: with Video

http://www.yeeaah.com/elantra/elantrahowto.htm

Sorry for crappy pics, hope video helps

Im thinking about trimming the MAF and cuting out a section of the CAI, and insert the MAF. BUT im not sure where to go from there, there really isnt much room under or around the battery.

Do NOT modify the MAF in any way whatsoever. Do not even remove the mesh from it or you will ruin it and have to replace it. Just disconnect the tube from the rest of the stock intake and cut a section out of the CAI to fit it in.

Now, I know what a stock parts look like. I have seen them 100x's and pics and video don't help me. So could you please take a pic of the CAI like I asked so I can make sure you got the right one?

Im sorry when you said intake I thought tou ment on the car, not the CAI. Heres a picture.

I can cut a place for the MAF, no problem, but where to go after that?? As you can see in the video the stock in take goes out the side of the filter box into the drivers side quarter pannel runs under the batter and comes back up in front of the batter with about a 2" pipe.

You have to pull that box out of the fenderwell. Then cut that hole a little larger if it is a 3" pipe.

It should look like this when you are done.

My engine does not use a MAF.
