Default SR CAI - any stories?

Noticed Shark Racing got their new CAIs out to buy. I was really gonna go for AEM.. but SR is all about Hyundai and etc, not to mention the fact that the SR CAI was produced with all the electronics of the Beta engines, performance, and engine compartments in mind, so I figured I'd give them a shot.

Has any had any sucess ordering, installing and running an SR CAI on any Beta engine setup? I'd love to know how well these things produce, because if performance is better than the AEM intake, I'm all for it. Especially with a price tag almost $50 less than the AEM setup.

Just thought I'd ask.

Do a search at HA.com, there are SEVERAL issues allready.

1. It took what, 3 years for them to ship the first ones?

2. When they shipped, they sent the CAI tubing, a tube for between the MAF and IM (That doesn't fit on the tiburons or elantras BTW).

3. They are shipping the filters in another package, you may get it within a week after getting the tubing.

4. They have sent different amounts of couplings to different folks, 3 to one person, 2 to another, 4 to another.

5. Some of the couplings don't match in colors, or have the SR insigina they were supposed to.

6. Some folks are getting shipment of a bolt.

That's right, a bolt.

Again, when you deal with SR, you get what's coming to you. Literally.

LOL, don't kid yourself. I quarantee AEM did a lot more research then SR did on their intake. You don't fully understand the process AEM goes through for ALL of their intakes. They build several designs and dyno tests them all several times. Then they take the best design and produce that one. The AEM is the best intake around for the Beta. Also, AEM has been very receptive to Hyundai themselves.

Buy what you want but if you want the best and you want to purchase to be headache free, then stick with the AEM.

on a side not most intakes are all the same, come from the same factory after getting bent, it all depends who buys them, and powdercoats them and puts a sticker on them

Haha... yes I've heard about the bolt. But wow.. lots of problems with SR then.

AEM defintely seems to be the way to go, because I went looking through the AEM website and saw, just by information they have there, how much work they put into their intake systems. I can order an AEM CAI for a Tibruon (pre-03), and fit it onto my 2000 Elantra, correct?

Was also looking into headers and cat-back exhausts too. Any suggestions on that would be appreciated. I noticed SR had a 4-1 header... but I haven't looked around much, because to tell you the truth, I don't know where to look. What companies manufacture after-market performance parts for our cars?

Do you want to stick with quality on the header or do you want something cheap?

OBX headers sell on ebay for $100-$150. The quality is not great but the price is nice.

We sell Hwarang headers that will fit. They are a bit pricier but the quality is great. (We also sell the AEM intake) Just click on the Shop.HP.com under the banner.

Hotshots seem to make a good header and I have not heard complaints about SR either.
