There is a hose that goes from the crank case to the intake. You put it between there.

I can remember the first time I sucked oil out of the head and into the intake. It was on a Long sweeping 270 degree onramp from the Garden State parkway to Westbound Atlantic City Expressway.. The car was three days old and I thought for a moment I had really screwed something...

Nice Catchcan.. and it has the built in drainage at the bottom.. might want to make sure you put it in a spot where it can be easily emptied.

Thats not how you would drain it. That is an air valve like the ones found on a tire. Its purpose is for relieving air pressure before you remove it from an air compressor. You won't use it all for oil since no pressure will build up. To empty you simply unscrew the little container and dump it.

i understand the utility of the oil/air separator but
I've put a small breather on the valve cover

is it better ti put an oil/air separator and relink it to the intake?

A breather valve is not evironmentally sound because these gases are let out into the atmosphere, so yes, it is better.

Pretty easy to make. Now just having to wait for the engine to cool down. But I went to HOme Depot to get the catcher and tape. Its in the "tools" corral. Then at Lowes go to the "Tool World" and I found the gold thingies.. (blanking on the name). Now I just need to figure out how to mount it. Probably temp i'll zip tie it tightly to something.. or find me some aluminum (sp err probably). Good write up. This will stop my squeeking noise. The dealership will love this new mod.. (rolls eyes). I can just easily take it off though. So no biggie.
