Default Cam question

Hey guyz!!

What is best for low/mid power increase, long duration or short,for the intake cam?

One other q................will running higher compression increase low/mid power,or increase upper end?

I think the higher you go on a cam usually the more top end hp it makes cause its staying open longer but then low end torque suffers somewhat but dont quote me on this let someone else with more knowledge on cams answer this fully.

that about sums it up.. a longer duration cam will kill low end power due to overlap between the intake and the exhaust lobes both being open at the same time.. however, by the time you get up "onto the cam" that overlap is working in your favor.. Just remember though, Hyundai engines do not like to rev beyond redline.. even if you could disable the fuel cut.. so if you go with too "lumpy" a cam... you are just wasting fuel

Okay,so the factory 2L cam in my tib is best for low/mid power.Don't know if a cam exists for my car that has a shorter duration?

What about higher compression? Does that effect low/mid?
