Default Muffler touching the bumper

After getting a full exhaust done, my car's muffler is moving more violently than before. For example, when I press the gas pedeal, it seems like that the muffler moves left and right, and it touches with the bumper, making weird noise. I went to muffler shop today, and they put an extra rubber hanger. The muffler is definetely harder to move (by hand or feet) but it still touches bumper when I press the gas pedal hard. Any suggestion to fix it?

I was thinking about getting smaller muffler tip. Is it possible to change Magnaflow tip and put a new one?

i kinda had the same problem. i did a custom exhaust and one of the bends was off by a little and the muffler was touching the bumper. my dumbass didnt' realize it for a couple days and when i did the muffler melted to the bumper and there's an indention from the muffler. we just skrewed around with the mid pipe and the pipe connected to the muffler for a while until it didn't touch any more. you can try just pushing it down really hard with your foot or maybe just weld like a straight rod between the exhaust pipe and the car so it doesn't raise when you step on the gas. i think that might be what the extra hanger the guy put on was supposed to do. i don't know though. i'm redoing my exhaust in a couple days and i will look at it and try to get some more ideas for you if you haven't fixed it by then.

Thanx for tip. My car is just getting way too much air from the header and 2 1/2 exhaust

I might put the glasspack again so that it restrict some air... I don't know if it's good or not though (I currently have nothing that blocks air flow, except one Catalytic converter).

not quite sure if you mean replacing your current muffler or just putting another muffler on the system. i think i would put another glasspack/muffler on the mid pipe right by the cat. that should stop it from moving as much.

Got a question for you. When you had your "custom" exhaust installed, did they start it after the flex pipe or did they remove it. If the dumb a$$es removed it then that could be your problem. The flex pipe is the part that is about a foot long, about a few inches behind the engine, and it looks woven. Check on that and let me know.

Flex pipe came with SR header, so it's there.

My magnaflow has 2.25" inlet and 4" outlet. This 4" tip is the thing that is touching with a bumper left and right. So I was wondering if it is possible to cut that 4" tip from my muffler than put some 3" tip.

man, ur muffler needs a big glasspacked tip.. mine sits right on the bumper, and it seems to be fine.. i think i could prolly touch it on the outside if i wanted.. (but i don't try it )

but uh..how can u tell when ur muffler moves when u ht the gas..if ur in there hitting the gas?

No more rinky-dink mods, getting a job, saving till summer = Beta! or should i just buy headers/tib TB/clutch/tranny? and other misc. shiz for the same price?? the tib engine is a nice base for the future..
