Default After ECU install

Hello my hyundai tib 1997 just had the 1.8L ecu installed and am installing the camshaft on saturday. Now there is a problem. Firstly after revving up, the engine stalls when the revs are falling down. The revs were always a bit shaky before and i was wondering if its because the sensor that used to connect to the OEM box air filter is no longer connected? Or is it a head gasket problem giving bad compression? Anyway the point is performance is very smooth now but when the revs drop after shifting there is a slight jerky sensation in the throttle and ofcourse the stalling problem (which isnt as bad when the air con is on). Cud a 3rd reason be that there is too much air and not enuf fuel in the mix? (i have a conical air filter) Lots of help wud be GReeeeeeeeatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch

Are you talking about your MAF or intake temperature sensor?

i believe the MAF or MAP out here is installed. This sensor is above the gearbox and i think attaches to block, the loose end has a long strip for measuring for wat i believe had something to do with the old airbox which is no longer present. However, the rpm stall thing seems to have reduced greatly after driving around for a bit and i havent had any stalls so far. So i guess it took some time for the ecu to do its calculations. In fact the rev dropping seems to have improved. The car is now very very very smooth and its kind of weird driving it cuz its so quiet (with the lube service i just did today too). Revs also stay up a while when am just cruising without stepping on the "gas", which makes this 9 year old car feel like them fancy new ones. I have to now think about how i can be one with the car again.

in fact now that i tink about it, that long strip thing did look like those temperature sensors on a circuit board. So yea i wud say the intake temp sensor. Wud that cause these rev fluctuations?

Small ones, possibly. When I had my custom cold air intake on my accent, I had the intake temperature sensor disconected for a while. It would tend to fluctuate a little bit but that was mostly under higher heat and humidity conditions durring the summer months. Still, it was nothing major and only made my check engine light come on once durring a HOT summer night.

Yeaaaaaa! Thats exactly what happens to me. After driving for a while then the rev flux occurs. But the whole engine shaking thing pisses me off cuz am sure thats wat is spoiling my ac system. The threading of the compressor is gone, the belt tensioner is always loose. So anywaey i can reconnect this sensor?
