Default SMT-6 Anyone have one installed ?

I sure could use some help with the smt-6. If anyone has one instaslled in there hyundai please contact me. I need to figure out wiring and tuning with their software.
Once i get mine installed and working right I will post as much info as i can to help the next guy. Currently I have the harness connected and the chip preconfigured for my 99 elantra. car runs like shit with cels without chip in(jumper plug only) and won't even start with chip plugged in. Laptop communicates with chip fine. I see A/F readings moving , rpm etc.

If you can help ....
Thanks

For starters a correct wiring diagram, Ive been through 2. What kind of pattern is my cracnk senor outputing on a scope(square ? Sine curve?) How do you tune it after you have it installed. Has anyone used the software before?
Im looking for someone thats already been through this on a 99 Elantra.
I bought the chip from Bob Ida of Ida Performance in NJ. He has had me rewire the 2 times now and it still isnt working. I did run into a bad harness. The guy that attached the pins in the connector crimped on the insulation and not the wire conductor. Nice. So now Im waiting till tomorrow when I can call him and ask for another harness. Then I will start over with a good parts.

Yeeeeah! SMT is wired correctly. Now I cannot find a single dyno tuning shop that is willing to tune it.
I dont know if people are scared of something they have never seen , but im getting treated like a leper. One place aggreed to do it if I pay for the learning curve of 2 hrs plus another hour of tuning at 185$/hr.
Id have to also miss a day of work(unpaid) and its 2 hr.s away.

To add to all this, I cannot find any sample maps or another elantra owner with an SMT-6 installed.

Now what. 750$ in and nothing but a pretty box under the dash.

there's a few dealer for those in the US..
shouldn't be that hard to get it tuned..

what kind of set-up do you have in your car?
have you tried contacting IDA automotive to see where is the nearest dealer?

Yeah, I've been looking for a tuner for weeks. Bob Ida helped my quite a bit as far as the install. We spent 2 weekends on the phone working out bugs in some of the diagrams he had.

As of now, I have the chip installed but all the fields are zeroes. I tried loggin data a few runs and found the log file but the Playback feature of the software doesnt show anything being played back. Just a static screen, no value changes reflecting when I was driving or anything.

I could really use a base map but none is provided. I'd really like to know how much ignition advance I have at any givin point so that I know what I'm +/- ' ing.
Fuel tuning is also going to be difficult due to my learning curve and the narrow band O2 sensor on the car.

I need some of the people here that have this chip to contact me so I can get more info on how and what they did at the tuning prtion of the install.

here's what i'd do with a basicly stock engine sporting a few bolt ons
increase timing all across the map 2-3° below 60% of throttle
increase timing for the reamining spot 4° above 60% of throttle

doN,t paly with fuel (MAF) below 75% of throttle...
from, what i recall in my case i was using -4 at around 2500 rpm and up to -13 at 7500 rpm

start with that, engine should be happier
but again.. those are base settings, might not work for you

Thanks for the input. Of course I run High (91 Octane LOL ). So I will want to adjust timing based on that.
Ill experiment a little with the numbers you gave me
and see how they work out.
