Sorry to ask, can someone tell mi what to buy for my 1.8L lantra (or elantra) 1999? I`v been looking around for headers and found shark racing, but its bit pricey, OBX, DC, SSA, but i dont know what to buy. I alsowonder, is the header the same for 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0L engine? Mine is G4GM with 94 kw, so i am very sceptical to buy a header for lets say 2.0L engine. Original header is cracker in several places, original replacment costs araound 200$, so logicly i want to buy something that adds a litl HP. Also it would be great in it could ba shipped to europe (slovenia). Please help!

I'm also pretty happy with the evofusion header. I have the full header back system. It's a good price and I haven't had any problems with it or evofusion so I'll also recommend their header. Also, evofusion does make an Elantra header, but only for 2001-2006 so you're probably out of luck with your 1.8. Not sure how much it differs from the 2.0.

Yes, i thought that evofusion header probably wouldt fit. There are some headers that say they go with 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0L 4 cylinder engines, so i guess id should fit. Because Tiboron in Europe is called Coupe, and it comes in 1.6 and 2.0L engine till year 2001. So if it says that it fits on a toboron 1.6 or 2.0 i think 1.8 should also be included because the engines are almost the same. I suspect that in usa tiboron only comes with a 2.0L engine thats why many headers just say for 2.0 engine. I am looking at this header eBay Motors: OBX Exhaust Header 97-01 Hyundai Tiburon Elantra 2.0L (item 130216311757 end time Apr-27-08 11:58:19 PDT)
and i think it should fit. Does any one have any experience with OBX? I read that they are ok, not like lets say shark racing wich is expencive as hell, but worth its money.
This is what it says for a 2.0L engine on some website:1,975 cc 2 liters 4 in-line engine with 82 mm bore, 93.5 mm stroke, 10.3 compression ratio, double overhead cam and four valves per cylinder
and for a 1.8L: 1,795 cc 1.8 liters 4 in-line front transverse engine with 82 mm bore, 85 mm stroke, 10 compression ratio, cast iron block, light alloy head, double overhead cam and four valves per cylinder.
So i guess it should fit because in seems that the engines despite tle 0.2L and compression ratio and stroke difference, they are the same. Ou, does anyone know if o can keep the ventilator for the A/C if i mount an OBX header? I would kinda like to keep it
Please tell me what you think, i really want to buy a new header because i hate the annoying sound of a cracked header. And if it kicks in a few HP-s, so the better.

You can use that OBX header on your 1.8l Elantra.

It will not work for the 1.6l Alpha in the Accents but it will also work on the 1.6l Beta available in some non-US markets in the Elantras and Tiburons.
