Default Running higher AMP alternator

Will running a higher AMP alternator improve performance? What I mean is running a sonata alternator in an accent? I am seeing ads in mags for mitsu lancers to run evo alternator for better performance. So far, I only understand that people who are into high power ICE tends to do that. Can anyone advice? And if its possible, what are the electrical precautions I need to take note?

If I am not mistaken the only thing that a higher amp alternator may help with is
preventing the dimming that occurs when you have large speakers and an audio amp. You may damage your car in the long run considering that you would be producing a higher current than its wiring is designed to handle.

the idea of a high output alternator in performance was that the engine gets a better charge for ignition of the fuel.
I just don't see how this would work without bigger wires.
I'm curios to find out if it makes any difference in performance at all.

even if somebody ran 0 gage wire straight to the engine I think even the plugs can only put out so much.

I would only bother with an alternator if I need more power then what I'm getting, and what I'm getting is fine even with an underdrive pulley.

tho if somebody is actually getting higher dyno numbers from one I would like to know.
