Rule
#13 Do not ask questions about any type of electric turbo/supercharger because they are a total waste of money and will give you absolutely no performance gains. (This also includes the Spiralmax and Tornado.)[AUTOBOT] :
Yeah... these have been around for a while now and don't do anything except make your wallet lighter.
sorry red I did not mean to break the rules but I feel you could at least explain how it is a waste of money. If it forces air into the intake is that not a good thing? It may be the warm engine air but the fact is that it is more air right? I simply don't know and that is why I am asking.
I think he means that it's a waste of money because it offers little to no performance gains. He's also probably pissed cuz you posted an identical thread in another forum...
If you want turbo performance you're gonna have to spring for a turbo... if you want a leaf blower, go down to Home Hardware and wire it up to your intake. Simple as that.
I know what you mean jharvey, it LOOKS like it would do something but these guys know they're stuff... trust 'em.

might as well buy a leaf blower. they push out more air. lol.
but why wouldn't it work? you still are forcing air into the engine. um right?

thing of ur engine as a big air compressor... it pulls more cfm that those things can produce of 12v system. You may see a SMALL GAIN.. but it would be better to get a cai

Yeah.. it doesn't provide enough push to be useful. Like Wytch said, not efficient enough.
A real turbo system will cost you about $3000 or more and do you think a $125 dollar plastic fan can provide similar performance? In the performance industry, you usually pay for what you get (except name brand stuff is sometimes too expensive).
I'm sure electronic gadgets and other not worthy products have been discussed here before and by people with more technical knowledge, so if you really want to find out, try looking it up. I personally don't think its worth wasting your time unless you are curious.
