Default Suspension

Ok. I know I am going to get flamed big time for this because it was the dumbest thing I could have ever done and I'll never do it again, but about a month ago I was stupid and put in spring compressors. After a day I heard they were bad and I kept them on my car, but I refused to drive it anywhere with them on because I found out how unsafe they are. So after about a week, I finilly was able to pull the stupid things outta my car. Good. No problem there right? Nope. Now when ever I go over a big bump, my car makes a grinding or clanking noise. I know I'm not bottoming out. My ride COMPLETELY sucks too! when going down a bumpy road or a road with some wind the whole car jumps around and moves. When I hit a little divit with a tire, it pulls my car to that side.

Tell me what exactly did I mess up here? I'm about to order all new springs, struts, and shocks!! Would struts even be prart of the problem? Do I have struts on the front and back? Thanks. I've never really done anything to suspension before.

yeah with the lower height and still having low spring rates you probably blew the shocks and maybe even permanently compressed the springs to uneven levels. getting 4 new shocks (yes you have front and rear shocks) and springs will solve the bouncing and jumping issue but the grinding, i dunno. it could be a wheel bearing, do you knwo what wheel its coming from?

If you know how to check the shocks with the car stationary, do that first. It will help to determine if you will need to order new shocks, but you will definitely need new springs.

Good luck man, hope you learned from this. :bandit:

Yeah new springs will be needed. To test the shocks park the car and push down on each corner. The car should come back up and settle. If it bounces then the struts are finished.

To answer your question heas your car has stuts on all 4 corners.
