Default WHP?

Could someone please explain what this is. I know what it stands for but how does the conversion work from WHP to actual HP. I am sorry for the stupid question but I would really like to know. and please dont flame me for the question. I did a search on the board but found nothing. for example what would 160WHP be in HP. Thanks:embarrassed:

WHP= HP at the wheels. There are many things that you have to factor in when you want to convert that to HP. A normal car will loose HP due to the following.

Powersteering
A/C
Power lost trough drive train

If you take the accent for comparision it is rated at 94hp(1.5L) at the wheels you get on average 75-80. There is no real way of calculating it without a dyno.

Unfortunately there's no equation, and really no accurate way of estimating either. You need a dyno to actually know how much HP your car is putting down, just as pare_john said.
