Default signature

I know how to change my signature but I was wondering how I add an image for my sig instead of just words

Been looking around and haven't stumbled onto the answer yet

You can use html or forum code to put images in your sig.

(image)http://www.yoururl.com/yourpic.jpg(/image) but with square brackets [ ]. I used ( ) so that it would show up.

it should be the same as other forums so you could just copy and paste it if you have images in sigs from other forums.

The guideline for sig size is 10 lines of text.

Should only be around that size with text and pictures all together.

If you need more help, just post here again. I'll check up for you.

edit:

Your sig updates automatically and all recent posts should have the updated sigs.
If you check back here or refresh this page while you are trying your sig out, you should be able to see what you have done.

Or you could go and try it out in the testing forum.

here's the really stupid question...since I've never done this where do I get the URL from

The pic that I want to use is on my hard drive and can't figure out where I get the URL from...

You are going to have to have the picture uploaded somewhere.

http://ourworld.cs.com/ That is the place I use right now. Its free and pretty good. All you need is an AIM (AOL instant messenger) log in name and if you don't have one, you can make a new one pretty easily.

Once its uploaded to somewhere on the web, get the url either from the address bar or by right clicking the picture and pressing properties. Then you hightlight the url and right click the highlighted area and press copy.

Now you are ready to paste it in your signature.

Paste the url of the pic in between the (image) and (/image). (they have square brackets) so it should be like

(image)http://ourworld.cs.com/red97agt/redagt.jpg(/image).

I used round brackets so that it would show up for an example, but you need to use square brackets for the code to work properly [ ].

If you only want a few pics or are having troubles, email me the pic and I'll put it up for you and give you the url.

as your link cause you have
http://ourworld.cs.com/playawut4/myhomepage/head%20(2).gif?mtbrand=CS_US

with the little extra bit on the end. nothing serious, but just a bit cleaner.
