Default Beta Engine

Alright here's the deal. I'm putting together a "budget" to put a turbo on my car. Because I don't want to try and fit the whole thing together in one weekend, I wanted to get a motor and build it up over like 5-6 months and then drop it in.

i wanted to know roughly how much i should budget for a motor new or used (no more than around 5k miles).

btw the plan i'm running with is to go with the alpine kit and run 10-12psig. Target HP is like 200 on the ground.

If you are building a motor, then why would it matter how many miles it has?
After all, if you are actually going to BUILD it, then you will be pulling it apart and putting it back together.

Now, if you aren't pulling it apart, then it is called bolting on parts and if that is the case then just use your motor and bolt them on.:hmmm:

I was planning the same idea. Instead of my car being a "work in progress" type of deal, I would love to buy a used engine(ebay probably)and buy all the turbo stuff for it and drop it in. Is it really as easy as that sounds? I was looking in the forced induction forum this morning and noticed a group buy on accent turbos with intercooler for $3,000+, doesn't sound too bad to me.

Its just that easy. :hmmm:

I think my budget is at like $5k US and its about 3/4 finished. Expect to spend another $3000 on stuff after the turbo and research, research, research. There's a ton of good info on this site.

I checked out ebay and couldn't find anything, so I tried used-auto-engines.com. Filled out the forms and got like 4 responses that day, now that was easy.
