Flipping The Compressor?

This is on a 14b dms turbo

I know the manifold and the turbo's flange look mirrored on both sides, but is it possible without hindering performance or anything like that to turn the compressor from facing one side to the other? Basically flipping the compressor and such around fromt facing left to right or whatever? This would possibly allow easier routing of tubes to the intercooler? I could be mistaken though? I've attempted searching on this, and found nothing at all.

Easier use of the airflow in relation with the intercooler inlet/outlet.
