what are the differences between DOHC and SOHC engines? and which are better?

dual overhead cam engines are generally better. They have less parts movement, better breathing capabilities, and are noticibly smoother. What people do not like about them, due to the better breathing capabilities and their smoother ability to rev.. they do not make power until you are higher up on the tach.
